February’s recipe on the calendar is chocolate hazelnut cupcakes.
Now. I am a fan of chocolate, I am a fan of hazelnuts (well, Nutella which is what is in the icing) and I am a fan of cupcakes so there’s not really a lot that can go wrong here is there?
No! No there isn’t. These were great so this is basically just a lot of pictures of them.
Baking info: cream the butter and sugar, add the eggs, flour, baking powder, combine, add melted chocolate, put them in the oven. I cooked mine for 24 minutes. The frosting is Nutella, cream cheese and icing sugar. Now. Picture time.
Here is a picture of when I put them all in the cake cases:

Here they are fresh out of the oven:

I was so proud of my icing that I took a picture of them before I sprinkled hazelnuts over the top:

And here are the finished cupcakes:

Do you like my new plate? It’s from Tesco and it was reduced! I decided that I needed to have more than three display plates really…

So. The verdict? These are really tasty, look great and are easy to make. I know it’s only the second recipe from the calendar but it’s my favourite so far.

Brilliant icing. They look sooo good.
They look yummy. And love the idea of using Nutella in the icing.
