I love summer!! It’s my favourite time of year until the end of November when I start getting excited about Christmas.
Who am I kidding? I start getting excited about Christmas in July.
I digress.
I made these cupcakes on a really grey day in August. They’re nothing remarkable, just vanilla cupcakes decorated to look like ice creams. I make them about once a year and if anyone reading this has ever been to one of the summer barbeques held by my parents, then you’ll probably have seen them before.
They’re so easy. I just love making them as I think they look really cute.
I don’t even really have a blog post to accompany these pictures, so here’s a list of things I love about summer apart from cupcakes that look like ice cream:
- When I hear the ice cream man’s tune as he drives around
- When the sun is out but there’s a breeze
- Bees (as long as they don’t come near me)
- The smell of barbeques
- Flowers everywhere!
- The feel of the sun’s warmth on my skin through the window
- It doesn’t get dark at 4pm and when I wake up it’s sunny
We’re in September now so it’s time for me to break out my Ugg boots again and wait patiently until the shops start putting out the wrapping paper and Christmas cards… argh!
